Miami Triumphs at Eastern Michigan to Remain Undefeated

Miami University continued its impressive unbeaten streak with a victory over Eastern Michigan on Tuesday night, securing a 74-64 win in Ypsilanti, Michigan. Leading the charge, Brant Byers scored 16 points, part of a quartet of RedHawks in double figures. Antwone Woolfolk added 14 points, while Peter Suder achieved a double-double with 13 points and 10 rebounds, marking his 1,500th career point. Almar Atlason contributed 12 points off the bench.

With this win, Miami solidifies its stance as the only unbeaten team in Division I basketball, holding a 28-0 record overall and 15-0 in the Mid-American Conference. The game saw Miami’s strong start, keeping Eastern Michigan scoreless for the first 6:30 and establishing a 12-0 lead. The RedHawks reached a comfortable 43-22 halftime lead and expanded this to 50-24 early in the second half. Although Eastern Michigan rallied to narrow the gap, Miami responded with crucial baskets, including a vital three-pointer by Byers and decisive contributions from Woolfolk, ensuring their victory.

Miami’s winning streak faces its next challenge on Friday, February 27, against Western Michigan.
