Apple is reportedly preparing successors to its Studio Display, with two potential models on the horizon featuring various sizes and specifications to entice monitor enthusiasts. According to Macworld, based on “internal Apple files,” these models are identified by the codes J427 and J527, indicating that two variations of the Studio Display 2 might be forthcoming.

The upcoming displays are speculated to include a 32-inch and a 27-inch model. The larger version is expected to offer enhanced audio, a wider selection of ports, and more screen space. Both models may come with ProMotion technology, supporting refresh rates up to 120 Hz and HDR capability. At least one Thunderbolt 5 port, allowing for 5K resolution at 120 Hz, is anticipated.

Despite these significant upgrades, including a possible shift to mini-LED technology, the design is expected to remain unchanged. The current 27-inch Apple Studio Display design will likely persist. This news adds to previous leaks, indicating a refresh since the original model debuted in 2022. Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman recently noted that shipping delays for the current model might signal an imminent update, potentially unveiling in early March during a scheduled Apple product event.
